I strongly believe in the power of an individual to help change another humans life. Thus, volunteering and charity work is highly important to me. There is nothing deeper and more fulfilling to me than creating a world where those less fortunate are empowered by others who wish for them to have a better life. I’ve listed a few organizations below that I truly believe in and a donation to one of these charities will always touch my heart and turn me on.

 Actors Fund

The Actors Fund is an awesome organization especially close to my heart. It is set up to help individuals in the performing arts and entertainment fields who may run into hardship due to inconsistent income, health and housing issues in a world that does not always value those who are creative professionals. I have been fortunate to have attended several of their programs over the years and find immense value in what they offer to the Broadway community.

 American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)

ACLU has been around for over 100 years. This world famous non-profit fights hard to promote equality in several different areas that affect people of all backgrounds in the United States. In a world where communities are affected in dramatic ways by leaders who are driven by their own agendas, there is no better time then the present to support this organization that works relentlessly for the rights of American citizens who are often unable to advocate for themselves.

 FEEDING AMERICA

Feeding America is the nations leading domestic hunger relief charity. Having an established connection of over two hundred food banks spread across the United States, this organization provides food to those in critical need of nourishment.

 GIRLS EDUCATIONAL MENTORING & SERVICES (GEMS)

Gems is an organization which provides services to young women and girls who have been sexually exploited and domestically trafficked. Through their programs they are able to turn the lives of these girls around and give them opportunities for a new life.

 KIVA

Kiva is an organization which lends money to small business owners all over the world and has helped thousands of people to support their families and communities through starting entrepreneurial projects.
